How to choose a good name for your construction business

Having a solid, trustworthy and friendly image is essential in the construction industry to position yourself in the market and connect with customers. Therefore, choosing a good name for your construction business is decisive if you want to achieve success.

Once you have defined the services that your business provides, the way of working and its values, you can start the search for the ideal name. However, trying to choose it can be tricky. Here are five simple tips to help you define it.

1. IT SHOULD SOUND GOOD

The name you choose should be heard well and pronounced easily. Avoid cacophony (repetition of sounds), confusion or difficulties in pronouncing it. For example: Constructions, demolitions & Associated Builders.

 2. MEANING AND CLARITY ARE IMPORTANT

A simple name, but that shows directly and clearly the line of your business is the most recommended. It also shouldn't be too generic or commonplace and cover many areas. Simple and clear generates greater impact.

The words used should have positive meanings that reinforce your business. Think of words that can be used as verbs like "Google."

 3. ACRONYMS ARE NOT ADVISABLE

You wonder why not the acronyms if there are gigantic companies that use them like IBM or 3M. These companies have been positioning their name for decades and are already easily recognizable. Currently, the acronyms are not very attractive and are difficult to remember, especially for new and small businesses.

In addition, it will be very difficult for you to find a domain of 3 to 6 letters. This is practically impossible, even if they are only acronyms.

 4. MISSPELLED WORDS ARE IN, BUT THEY DON'T WORK

In social networks and the internet we see business names that suppress letters or words to be "cool", but in real life it does not work. People, your future clients, should know how to spell your business name just by listening to it so that they can easily find it on the internet or recommend it.

 5. USING LAST NAMES SOMETIMES WORKS

As long as it is accompanied by a word that represents the action area, the last name will work as a business name. (the business owner's last name is Perez and builders is because the owner is a builder).

Another advantage is that you can use generic words like BUILDERS. This allows you to find a friendly domain that is easy to remember and is available on various platforms.

I already chose the name. Whats Next?

Find out if the name does not already exist in the market or if it is similar to that of other companies. In most countries of the world there are public and private institutions that can help you in this.
